Project Category : Pipeline Works
Location : SAUDI ARABIA, JUBAIL
Duration : 3 YEARS
Status : Completed Successfully
Project Summary
The purpose of the facilities is to support the corporate strategy of maintaining a safe and reliable means of transporting hydrocarbon liquids and gases in the Eastern Region while not being impacted the population encroachment in the vicinity of Jubail city by replacing and rerouting three Northern Area Pipelines.
1.1 Pipeline Facilities for BB-1 Seg-III and BRT-2 (BRT-4)
The project shall provide a new scrapable buried pipeline BRT-4 to replace 32” BB-1 Seg-III and 40”/42” BRT-2 pipelines that meet the design capabilities of the existing crude pipeline system and the anticipated increment after the development of Berri Field. The BRT-4 will be partially rerouted to the QBGG-1 corridor. The new 30” BRT-4 pipeline will start from the launcher trap area of BB-1 Seg-III which is located at KM 137.706 of the KRT’s corridor and will follow the KRTs Corridor for approximately 11 kilometers. At KM 148.5 the pipeline will be rerouted through the QBGG-1 corridor until it joins the KRT’s corridor at KM 183 for approximately 42 kilometer. Then the line will follow route parallel to the existing BRT-2 for approximately 8.669 kilometers until it terminates at the scraper receiver at KRTs KM 191 near Ju’aymah. The total length of the new BRT-4 is approximately 61.7 kilometers. The proposed pipeline shall run parallel to new 48” SJ-1 pipeline constructed under BI 10-00004, new 30” KRT-2 pipeline under construction under BI 10-00094, 56” KRT-3 pipeline under construction under BI 10-00913, and the existing KJNGL-1 pipeline until it terminates at KM 191 of the KRTs corridor.
1.2 Pipeline Facilities for UBTG-1 Seg-IV Pipeline
The project shall provide a new scrapable buried pipeline named UBTG-1 Seg-IV that meets the design capabilities of the existing sales gas network. The proposed pipeline shall originate and tie-in to the existing 36” UBTG-1 Seg-IV at KM 186 of the KRTs corridor (KM 212.129 on UBTG-1) and ends at the receiver trap area at Berri Junction utilizing the existing corridor of the QBGG-1. The approximate length of the proposed pipeline is 41.8 Km.
1.3 Pipeline Facilities for BCTL-2 Pipeline
The project shall provide a new scrapable buried pipeline named BCTL-2 to replace the existing 6” BCTL-1 pipeline that meets the design capabilities of the sour spike condensate transported from Berri Gas Plant to the BRT-2 pipeline. The proposed pipeline shall originate at the existing BGP launcher traps area and run parallel to the existing QBGG-1 and ABGP-1 pipelines until it tie-ins to the new BRT-4 pipeline. The approximate length of the proposed pipeline is 4.4 Km. Pipeline shall be externally and internally coated.
